On Sunday we were not expecting big speeds at the world's greatest race course. The sun was shining all around the circuit and the temperatures were well into the 80s and track temperatures exceeded 110 degrees. Not ideal conditions for speed. However, cloud cover and shade from the grandstands allowed for a gradual increase come 5pm on Sunday. When the Firestone Fast 6 went out...1 by 1 everyone was outpacing one another. When Kyle Larson went 233mph average, everyone lost their minds. Then out comes the young Kiwi Scott McLaughlin. 234.5 mph was the opening lap and even Will Power knew it was over from there. McLaughlin now has the fastest pole speed at IMS. Not the track

record...but a record regardless. I am calling my shot now saying he will be the winner on this coming Sunday.
