Rinus Veekay's Stunning Fast 12 Lap

Personally, after his 11am crash in turn 3, I wrote off Rinus Veekay as being in the last row shootout. By the time 6pm came, he withdraws his time from 28th and stuns everyone with a lap that got him to a provisional 11th place on the grid. Of course positions 1-12 will re-qualify tomorrow, but I thought withdrawing a safe time with a dumb idea at first, he shut me up REAL quick after a lap one speed of 233mph.

This is why Indy is so special. The papers will be all over the pole sitter tomorrow, but everyone in the paddock will talk about Rinus and Ed Carpenter Racing
